About the Role
DBS Bank is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its Credit Risk Quality Assurance function. As a key member of the Risk Management Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's risk exposure is managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust credit risk quality assurance strategy to ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assess the quality of credit risk management processes across the bank, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluate origination, underwriting, monitoring, and risk rating integrity, providing recommendations for enhancements.
- Collaborate with first and second lines of defense teams to develop and implement resolution plans to address findings.
- Identify emerging risks and gaps in the credit risk management process, providing strategic recommendations for mitigation.
- Act as a change agent, coaching teams in areas with noted deficiencies and sharing best practices.
- Enhance management information reporting by developing new risk and control monitoring metrics.
Requirements
- At least a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of financial services experience, including credit experience in corporate, commercial, or retail banking.
- Experience with credit products across multiple asset classes and within large banks.
- Fully conversant in credit policy matters with proven sound judgment.
- Relevant experience/knowledge in a similar role is desirable.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence without direct authority.
- Motivated, self-driven, and taking a hands-on approach.
