We are seeking an experienced finance professional to fill the position of Assistant Manager, Finance at Manulife Financial Advisers Pte. Ltd.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain a robust accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely computation, payment, and accounting of agency compensation and benefits.
- Develop and implement proper accounting and internal controls for all collections and payments.
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliation of balance sheet schedules, investigating and resolving outstanding items.
- Review payment, invoice, journal, and consolidated income statement for agents and third-party plan code setup in the system.
- Ensure timely and accurate commission and expenses closing.
- Prepare income tax and GST computation, liaising with tax agents for submission to IRAS.
- Prepare financial statements and statutory reports for submission to regulators.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members.
- Handle commission and service fee-related inquiries.
- Liaise with third-party insurers on commission-related matters.
- Liaise with banks on all banking-related matters.
- Liaise with the head/regional office on monthly inter-company billing.
- Liaise with other departments on event costing.
- Review outstanding debts from agents.
- Carry out projects or assignments as directed by management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of accounting and auditing experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial position, preferably relevant experience in an insurance intermediary.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and excellent analytical skills.
- Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative, strong work ethic, and ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
