Pastries and Desserts Preparation Specialist

Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced pastry professional to join our team as a Pastries and Desserts Preparation Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in pastry preparation, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of dessert preparation and presentation techniques, and good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices are essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, assembly, and presentation of pastry and dessert items, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and visual appeal in line with our standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and assemble pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
  2. Ensure proper portioning, garnishing, and plating of all dessert items for service.
  3. Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and coordinate with the purchasing team for replenishment.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry preparation area in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  5. Assist in developing seasonal or promotional dessert offerings in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  6. Check the quality and freshness of all received pastry products before use.
  7. Train and guide junior staff in pastry preparation and presentation techniques.
  8. Support other kitchen operations as required.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in pastry preparation, preferably in a hotel or restaurant setting.
  2. Knowledge of dessert preparation and presentation techniques.
  3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent output.
  4. Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
  6. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
