Japanese Culinary Expert

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Japanese Sous Chef to join our team at Recruit International Consultants PTE. Limited. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Japanese dishes that meet the expectations of our discerning customers.
Salary Range: $2,800 - $3,200 per month (estimated based on industry standards)
About the Role:
- Create exquisite sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
- Maintain a clean work environment to prevent food contamination and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Prepare various types of Japanese cuisine, including yakitori, noodle/rice dishes, and hot/cold appetizers.
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and improve existing ones.
- Ensure accurate inventory management and minimize waste.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Japanese restaurant or Izakaya setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in Japanese cuisine and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality.
- Ability to work independently and lead the kitchen team effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
