Job Summary

The Health and Safety Strategist plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, developing strategic plans, and addressing non-conformities.

This position involves driving health and safety initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, facilitating training sessions, and continuously improving safety practices. This critical role leads accident investigations, performs proactive inspections, and supports maintaining a safe work environment across all project phases.

  • Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plan for the project, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address areas of non-compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough analysis to determine the root causes of non-compliance to OHS standards, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Evaluate various approaches to problem-solving and assess their potential impact on outcomes related to OHS compliance.
  • Organize and facilitate learning initiatives to enhance team knowledge of OHS standards and best practices.
  • Develop actionable plans based on the most effective solutions identified during OHS solution discussions, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Innovate and apply novel approaches to address complex health and safety challenges.
  • Drive OHS-related activities within the department to ensure full compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, collaborating with the team to prepare detailed reports for relevant stakeholders.
