Job Title: Procurement Specialist for Fresh Produce

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other raw materials for our production needs in East Africa.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Procure high-quality fresh produce directly from local farmers, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective procurement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and farmer groups to ensure a consistent supply of quality products.
  • Maintain accurate market trends and pricing data to optimize procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Travel locally to build grassroots supplier networks and negotiate contracts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in farm-level sourcing and local buying.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and build relationships with suppliers.
  • Fluency in Swahili is mandatory.
