The Operations Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of plant processes, equipment, and personnel. This position requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail to maintain safety standards, optimize production efficiency, and deliver quality products.
As an Operations Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating plant processes, diagnosing equipment issues, notifying shift supervisors of any abnormalities, and conducting initial troubleshooting to ensure continuous supply of quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate plant processes, diagnose equipment issues, notify shift supervisors of any abnormalities, and conduct initial troubleshooting.
- Meet customer demands for products within safety guidelines by controlling and operating plant equipment.
- Maintain and enhance plant efficiency and integrity by monitoring equipment, identifying faults, and suggesting improvements.
- Execute plant stops and starts, troubleshoot as instructed by the Facility Manager.
- Collaborate in reviewing, developing, and updating work instructions and documentation.
- Record daily plant activities, escalate concerns to the Plant Manager.
- Oversee site security by managing access control.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
Related working experience in chemical process plant will be advantageous
Basic equipment and distributed control system knowledge in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Safety minded, team player and good working experience
