Job Title:

Life Skills Trainer

At our Day Activity Centre, we are seeking a skilled Life Skills Trainer to support the provision of life and work skills training for trainees. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

  • Assist trainees in performing daily living activities such as feeding, grooming, and toileting, including diaper changing and maintaining good standards of hygiene.
  • Plan and coordinate the development of therapeutic and training materials for the trainees using a proactive, collaborative, creative, and person-centred approach.
  • Assist trainees in developing interventions and managing challenging behaviours with Senior Training Officers, Learning Coaches, therapists, and Psychologists.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Training Plans (ITP).
  • Assist in maintaining and updating ITP, training, and assessment records of trainees.
  • Carry out regular reviews and updates with caregivers on care needs and apply their training to the trainees' home setting.
  • Ensure that centre rules pertaining to trainees' safety, well-being, work hazards, and prescribed training procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist trainees in daily living activities
  2. Develop and coordinate training materials

  4. Implement Individual Training Plans
  5. Maintain and update records
  6. Review and update caregivers
  7. Adhere to centre rules

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 'O' level/'A' level/ITE certification
  • 1-2 years of experience working with persons with disabilities
  • Relevant experience in Special Education or Social/Community Services
  • Relevant experience in vocational training and coaching
  • Patient, positive, and passionate about working with adults with disabilities
  • Strong commitment of care towards adults with disabilities
