About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Data Centre Operations Specialist to join our team at Nxera. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre facilities. With a strong focus on sustainability, connectivity, and AI, we offer a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the data centre industry.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage DC Operations, including incident response, escalation, and resolution.
  • Lead BCP exercises and serve as the 1st level incident responder.
  • Fulfill customer requests and manage system maintenance.
  • Provide Remote Hand support for various tasks, including media management and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate equipment movement, asset tagging, and tracking.
  • Perform shift duties to support 24x7 DC Operations.

Data Centre Facilities Management
  • Monitor and maintain Data Centre Facilities infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Ensure proper functioning of supporting infrastructure, such as EMS and Access Control Systems.
  • Update and maintain documentation, including reports and technical notes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and provide timely customer support.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response procedures (ERP).
  • Coordinate maintenance and shutdowns with vendors.

Incident / Change / Customer Management
  • Manage incidents, including root cause analysis and closure.
  • Raise requests for change or notification to customers as part of service maintenance.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure contractual SLAs are met.
  • Perform duties such as access clearance and participate in projects as required.

Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Computer & Communications Engineering, or Information & Digital Technologies, or relevant experience.
  • Technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
  • Organized and adaptable, with good problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach.
