Research Officer

The School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University is a leading institution in advancing biological and biomedical sciences. We are seeking an experienced Research Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new projects. This role offers close mentorship and hands-on training in advanced experimental techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct wet-lab experiments including stem cell culture, CRISPR editing, molecular cloning, and imaging
  • Assist in maintaining shared lab reagents and supporting common protocols used across projects
  • Receive individualized training in core molecular biology techniques and experimental design
  • Participate in data collection and analysis under guidance from senior lab members
  • Contribute to lab organization, procurement, and safety documentation as part of a collaborative team
  • Take intellectual ownership of a focused mini-project aligned with the lab's research goals
Requirements:
  • Entry level candidates are welcome to apply
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, or related field
  • Strong interest in pursuing graduate study and a long-term research career
  • Prior laboratory experience (e.g., coursework, UROPs, final year projects) preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn complex protocols quickly
  • Conscientious, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
