Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit & Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Credit & Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for performing credit analysis on new and existing accounts, establishing and maintaining appropriate credit lines, forecasting expected receipts, and proactively contacting customers to confirm payment status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough credit analysis on new and existing accounts to determine creditworthiness.
  • Establish and maintain accurate and up-to-date credit lines for new and existing customers in accordance with company policies.
  • Forecast the timing of expected receipts from customers.
  • Proactively contact customers via phone or email to confirm payment status and resolve any outstanding disputes or issues.
  • Review and release near-term orders that have been placed on credit hold.
  • Adjust and reallocate credit lines as needed to accommodate fluctuating backlogs while considering customer payment history.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Sales Operations, Logistics, Legal, and Accounting to ensure seamless execution of credit-related tasks.
  • Monitor and report out on Accounts Receivable (AR) balances over 30 days past due.
  • Work with the AR team to confirm how incoming payments should be applied.
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including a review of AR balances to identify potential bad debt.
  • Perform periodic internal control activity document testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes Oxley.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial collections or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or other major ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of credit bureau reports.
