Our team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our Centre. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge legal issues through the application of machine learning research.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to address complex legal challenges using machine learning techniques. Key responsibilities include conducting research, collaborating with experts, collecting and creating datasets, training large language models (LLMs), analysing LLM results, and evaluating model performance.

  • Conduct in-depth research for funded projects involving foundational LLMs.
  • Collaborate with researchers on interdisciplinary projects.

You will have the opportunity to work with leading experts in your field and contribute to the development of guidelines, standards, and solutions to legal, ethical, policy, philosophical, and regulatory issues associated with IT, AI, data analytics, and robotics.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or computational linguistics. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Computational Linguistics.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and optimisation.
  • Familiarity with modern LLM architectures.
  • Experience handling large datasets and proficiency in Python.
