Electrical Design Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to fill this role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in construction projects.

This Electrical Design Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and supervising sub-contractors' work, liaising with relevant authorities and clients, and reviewing electrical design drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.

  • Responsibilities include overseeing the work progression of sub-contractors according to shop drawings, method statements, material and samples;
  • Collaborating and communicating with relevant authorities, sub-contractors, main contractor or clients on shop drawings, materials and samples;
  • Reviewing and aligning electrical design drawings to ensure adherence to design specifications and guidelines;
  • Having knowledge in M&E and being able to identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural and client provisions;
  • Managing and executing projects as per deadlines;
  • Attending meetings with subcontractors / contractors / clients to address issues and update progress;
  • Studying and reviewing drawings, specifications for compliance;
  • Allocating work and ensuring jobs are correctly and properly achieved within standards and SOP.
Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering is required;
  • At least 5 years of working experience as an Electrical Engineer is necessary;
  • Good knowledge of M&E specifications and requirements is essential;
  • Candidates with additional skills such as calculation, BIM, Revit, AutoCAD would be advantageous;
  • Candidates with more than 8 years of relevant experience will be considered for senior position.
