Skilled Tradesperson - Coatings Specialist
Description
As a skilled coatings specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes to various structures. Your expertise in surface preparation, material selection, and application techniques will ensure a seamless and professional finish.
Main Responsibilities
- Determine the type and amount of work required by examining surfaces and reading blueprints/instructions.
- Mix and apply various materials, including paints and coatings, using specialized tools and equipment.
- Fill cracks and holes with suitable materials, such as plaster or sealants, to create a smooth surface.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for coating, removing old materials and debris as necessary.
- Work at heights on scaffolding or ladders, using manual dexterity and balance to ensure safety.
- Take all necessary health and safety precautions to avoid accidents and injuries.
Requirements
- Prior experience in coatings, preferably in commercial or construction settings.
- Excellent knowledge of coatings materials, including selection, mixing, and application techniques.
- Solid understanding of commercial and/or construction coatings practices.
- Aptitude in using specialized tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Conscientious attention to detail, ensuring a high-quality finish every time.
