Technical Naval Systems Specialist

This position involves working as a System Engineer on naval platforms at Tuas. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining navigational and radar systems, as well as IT security systems onboard surface vessels and shore facilities.
- Work with the Superintendent to maintain the highest state of availability and readiness for the systems onboard naval platforms.
- Perform maintenance tasks onboard vessels, workshops, and shipyards.
- Troubleshoot defects in navigational and radar systems.
- Install and remove equipment and systems.
- Refurbish electronics units and assemblies.
- Minimum Diploma in relevant discipline.
- Knowledge in Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
- Experience in navigational, radar, and networking systems.
- Naval related maintenance or training certifications would be advantageous.
- Knowledge in firewalls, servers, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, VMware, SIEM, PAM, and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) would be advantageous.
- Good working knowledge and experience working onboard commercial and military vessels on navigational/networking/electronic systems.
- Able to troubleshoot network-based systems.
- Understanding of maintenance regime and basic experience in troubleshooting systems till card level.
- Able to adapt to changes well.
- Able to work well in a team and independently when required.
- Able to work with challenging customers.
- Able to work at height and onboard naval platforms.
- Able to sail for up to 3 days if required.
