Payroll Lead Position Overview

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the payroll team and drive continuous improvement in payroll operations. Reporting to the Head of Finance Shared Service, the ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise and leadership qualities required to manage teams effectively.

The Payroll Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end payroll processing cycle to ensure timely and accurate payments to all employees. This includes developing high-performing teams, providing guidance, development, and growth opportunities.

The role also involves developing robust controls and processes for payroll operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and managing internal and external audits. Additionally, the Payroll Lead will build strong relationships across departments and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of payroll and related processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the accounting and reporting of payroll costs
  • Maintaining payroll systems, processes, and operations manuals
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvements initiatives to elevate payroll operations efficiency and effectiveness
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must have:

  • At least an Accountancy Degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a similar job role, ideally handling large volumes of transactions
  • Experience in finance operations within shared services or other finance-related functions is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Hands-on experience with SAP/SuccessFactors Payroll System and managing payroll service lines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive transformation projects that improve productivity
