Job Description

Overview

The News Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the production teams at NBCUniversal, assisting with video editing, graphic creation, and segment production. This position is ideal for individuals looking to break into the journalism and TV news production industry, with a keen interest in business, economics, and financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write engaging scripts for TV news segments
  • Conduct thorough research on news stories and trends
  • Transcribe live interviews and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with the Graphics team to create visually appealing graphics and animations
  • Work closely with video editors to ensure seamless video cuts and editing
  • Prepare and organize show elements, including video clips, lower-thirds, and soundbites
  • Efficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programming
  • Contribute to the creation of show segments, sharing ideas and pitching concepts

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure
  • Fluency in English language
