The Role
Our traders are responsible for designing, operating, and improving high-performance algorithmic trading strategies deployed on electronic trading venues around the world. During an intensive period of mentorship and training in trade floor operations, traders learn the intricacies of each step of the trade flow process, eventually progressing to trading strategy design and deployment.
Responsibilities
Traders work closely with software engineers and researchers to enhance and further develop the firm's trading strategies. Traders become world experts in trading technology and its interaction with the market, helping to guide the development of market microstructure.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Excellent academic background; all majors welcome but hard sciences preferred (computer science, math, physics, statistics, and related fields)
- Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude
- Programming experience (Python, Java, or C++ are a plus)
- The ability to communicate information precisely and quickly
- The ability to work independently and create solutions without close direction or supervision
- High motivation and tenacity, with a proven ability to take the initiative and work both independently and within a team
- Team player: authentic, genuine person who is capable of working collective goals
