Maritime Purchaser

The ideal candidate will be responsible for arranging and administering the supply of vessel-related goods and services to specified ships, ensuring optimal operational costs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage purchasing according to established procedures and policies, including documentation and solicitation of competitive quotations from approved suppliers.
  2. Monitor and handle the supply and delivery process of duly approved purchases to vessels.
  3. Liaise closely with Technical Superintendents for optimum supply chain operation in accordance with the vessels' needs.
  4. Generate purchase requisitions and orders within the procurement system.
  5. Update and distribute supply status reports to vessels and superintendents on a monthly basis.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Maritime studies / Logistics or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 1 year's experience as a Purchaser/Technical Assistant in a ship Technical/Operations department or in a Ship management company.
  • Relevant experience in operations of ship supplies, good understanding of procurement practices and procedures.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. The candidate should have a solid understanding of maritime logistics and procurement principles. In addition, they should be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

A successful applicant will be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks effectively. They should also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
