Position Overview
The Senior Manager of IB World Schools (IBWS) is responsible for overseeing a designated portfolio of educational institutions, both private and public. This role involves partnering with schools and educational districts to provide expert guidance and support, ensuring they meet their educational and assessment goals effectively.
The Senior Manager will set personal objectives in alignment with organizational goals and will lead cross-functional initiatives, including strategic projects and programs, serving as the IB Programme Lead or Language Lead as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the evaluation process for the assigned portfolio of schools, ensuring consistency and efficiency while minimizing risks and enhancing customer service.
- Support schools through the program evaluation and self-study processes.
- Facilitate maximum benefits from evaluations by connecting schools with relevant ecosystems and promoting the sharing of best practices.
- Address schools' inquiries and monitor their development plans and challenges related to program implementation, providing feedback to the IB.
- Assess strengths and weaknesses in program implementation across schools at various maturity levels, contributing expertise to enhance programs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the assigned school portfolio's profile.
- Ensure relevant data for each school and district is accurately captured and analyzed to inform annual planning.
- Serve as the primary contact for schools and districts, maintaining relationships and monitoring their progress.
- Collaborate with educational institutions to continuously improve program implementation.
- Cultivate relationships with senior representatives from third-party organizations, including education board presidents and school superintendents.
- Enhance the capabilities of both new and experienced leaders in understanding and implementing IB education.
- Expand a network of external relations and identify new business opportunities in collaboration with other IB departments.
Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Extensive experience in school leadership.
- Previous experience with IB programs as an educator, coordinator, or administrator is desirable.
- Familiarity with educational systems and practices at national, state, or school group levels.
- Proven experience in education management, school improvement, and educational reform.
- Experience in roles within the IB Educator Network, such as team member/leader for school visits, consultant, or workshop leader, is advantageous.
- Background in educational management and innovative change.
