About the Role

Tamil Murasu is Singapore's only Tamil language newspaper, established in 1935. As a Video/Photojournalist, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality stills and videos for our multimedia platforms, including web and mobile.

You will conceptualize, write script, and produce videos that showcase news-worthy events and people, making our reports more engaging and informative.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with journalists and/or working independently on news content assignments
  • Developing video concepts, writing scripts, and producing high-quality video content
  • Posting and managing videos for publication on various media platforms, including social media
  • Shooting and editing videos and photos

Requirements:

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Video Production, Journalism, or related fields
  • At least two years of relevant experience
  • Ability to set up, light, write, shoot, appear as host, and produce video packages
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-organized and a self-starter, capable of managing multiple projects
  • Experience in social media platforms and management systems
  • Effectively bilingual (English/Tamil) to cater to the Tamil Murasu audience
  • Willingness to work on weekends/public holidays
