Senior Construction Project Manager

A strategic construction project manager is needed to oversee the entire operational oversight and performance of multiple construction projects. This senior executive will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

This role involves providing guidance and input to teams on marketing plans, tender execution, and completion of all projects to meet budget and timeline objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with other senior managers to ensure that operational processes are streamlined and optimized to improve efficiency and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of practical experience in managing significant projects and senior management roles, including 10 years in building project construction management with a main contractor at a senior level. They will also possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, as well as relevant professional body recognition or certifications.

This position requires excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. The candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

• Job Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning and Leadership:
• • Collaborate with upper management and corporate planning teams to develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies.
• • Oversee overall business and operational performance by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
• • Provide strong leadership to project managers, engineers, and site teams.
• • Manage resources, including human capital, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal project execution.
• • Implement and enforce quality assurance measures and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and construction techniques.
• Project Oversight and Management:
• • Oversee the full lifecycle of multiple construction projects, from tender submission to execution and handover.
• • Guide potential tender opportunities, review project specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and finalise tender pricing in coordination with commercial teams.
• • Manage resources, including human capital, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal project execution.
• • Implement and enforce quality assurance measures and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and construction techniques.
• Financial and Commercial Management:
• • Manage overall project and operational budgets, control costs, and provide regular financial updates to senior management.
• • Deal with contractual matters, manage change orders, and resolve contractual issues that arise with main contractors or subcontractors.
• • Manage procurement processes, including negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers for favorable pricing and timely delivery.
• Stakeholder Relations and Regulatory Compliance:
• • Manage and cultivate relationships with all key stakeholders, including clients, architects, government authorities, subcontractors, and vendors.
• • Ensure strict compliance with all local regulations, workplace safety, and health standards for all construction sites.
• • Identify potential risks and implement proactive measures and mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or issues.
