Purchasing Manager Job Description

As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services to support our manufacturing and food & beverage operations.

This position requires strong negotiation skills to drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring product quality and sustainability. You will also be responsible for managing budgets, purchasing policies, and cost-control initiatives across multiple business units.

The ideal candidate should have 3–8 years' experience in procurement, with exposure to both manufacturing and/or F&B industries. Strong knowledge of raw materials, food ingredients, and equipment sourcing is essential.

You will lead, coach, and develop the procurement team across manufacturing and F&B operations, providing regular reports on purchasing performance, market trends, and cost analysis to senior management.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with production, sales, and operational forecasts.
  • Supplier Sourcing & Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, food ingredients, packaging, kitchen equipment, and services.
  • Cost & Contract Negotiation: Drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring product quality and sustainability.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess holding costs.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO) and manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Team Leadership & Reporting: Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team across manufacturing and F&B operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, food ingredients, and equipment sourcing.
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain best practices.
  • 3–8 years' experience in procurement, with exposure to both manufacturing and/or F&B industries.
