Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and underwrite profitable accounts within underwriting limits, collaborating with the Head of Department and Manager to drive business results.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with agents, brokers, and clients, fostering a culture of trust and partnership.
  • Manage assigned accounts, ensuring efficient document workflow and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects assigned by the Head of Department and Manager, driving innovation and process improvement.
Technical Underwriting
  • Exercise prudent underwriting through a rigorous risk assessment process, considering loss control, claims history, and other relevant risk management factors.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines, referring cases outside your authority to the Manager.
  • Complete quotations and renewals reviews within agreed SLAs, driving efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide product and underwriting training to internal staff, brokers, agents, and partners, enhancing their knowledge and skills.
  • Meet budgeted loss ratios, driving business performance and customer satisfaction.
Portfolio Management
  • Perform periodic portfolio reviews and analysis on the Auto business, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Support the Head of Auto in monthly and quarterly P&L budget and forecast, driving business performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze relevant data (internal and external) for customer segmentation, analysis, and market trends, informing business decisions.
Business Development and Retention
  • Engage with internal stakeholders for technical or marketing support for business development initiatives, driving growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, partners, and clients, fostering a culture of trust and partnership.
Business Operations and Systems
  • Adhere to internal SLAs to ensure operational efficiency, driving business performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor the TAT of the processing team on policy issuance, including fleet vehicle inclusion, deletion, and endorsement, ensuring timely and efficient document issuance.
  • Assist with system enhancement requirement gathering and conduct user acceptance testing, driving process improvement and innovation.
Audit and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to audit requirements, driving business performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements, maintaining a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Complete assigned training, enhancing knowledge and skills in audit and compliance.
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Degree in Business, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • General Insurance Certification (BCP, PGI, CommGI).
  • Strong insurance knowledge, including underwriting concepts and local business practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Relevant experience in portfolio management and analytics is preferred.
  • Skills with SQL, Power BI, and Tableau are an additional advantage.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with proven ability to collaborate and work across multiple areas of the organization.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with channel partners and internal colleagues.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Positive attitude and ability to manage challenges.
