Job Description

At Best Careers and Opportunities, we are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing MSSQL database administration services following standard team processes.
  • Troubleshooting problems, working maintenance windows, and providing 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis.
  • Reporting patches required, patch testing, and rolling out patches on production.
  • Managing database instances, job scheduling, and verifying instance and dependent service status.
  • Maintaining database security, access controls, and monitoring transaction log growth.
  • Purging database logs and trace files, and scheduling maintenance plans for DBCC REINDEX and INDEX DEFRAG.
  • Creating maintenance plans and jobs for update stats and defragmentation.
  • User and schema creation, user management, roles and privileges management, and security policy compliance verification.


Requirements:
We are looking for an individual with at least 1.5+ years of experience in SQL DBA, fundamental knowledge of Windows Operating System, and strong skills in SQL Server fundamentals. Excellent communication skills, analytical and troubleshooting skills, and prior experience in a 24x7 environment are desired. MCSE MSSQL certification is recommended.
