Job Description

We are seeking a professional to join our team as a Staff Systems Engineer. This role involves designing, building and managing Hadoop and Kafka clusters on Cloud - AWS, GCP and Azure platforms.

  • Develop and maintain high-performance, reliable and scalable Open Source Apache Hadoop and Big Data clusters.
  • Design and implement tools and processes to monitor and analyze system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and implement solutions to improve reliability and efficiency of in-premise Hadoop and cloud platforms.

This is a hybrid position with an expectation of days in office confirmed by your hiring manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with managing and optimizing Hadoop and Kafka clusters in production environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise with AWS EMR, MSK and GCP Hadoop and Kafka cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in one of programming languages Python, Java or full stack development.
