Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow (Senior Research Fellow) to join our team in the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials at the National University of Singapore. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrochemical sensor development, with a focus on applications in biomedical diagnostics.

The role involves designing, fabricating, and characterizing electrochemical sensors, including surface functionalization and performance testing. Additionally, the successful candidate will perform laboratory validation using appropriate analytical methods and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop novel electrochemical sensors for hormone detection, with an emphasis on cortisol and related biomarkers
  • Perform advanced electrochemical techniques such as Chronoamperometry, Open Circuit Potential, Cyclic Voltammetry, Differential Pulse Voltammetry, Square Wave Voltammetry, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, and prepare technical reports, publications, or presentations
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Internationally-recognized PhD in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge and proven hands-on experience in electrochemical sensor development and analytical method validation
  • Strong background in analytical chemistry and electrodeposition techniques

This is a one-year appointment, with a possible extension to two years or more, dependent on previous experience and academic degrees.
