Quality Assurance and Control Specialist

  • A Quality Assurance and Control Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products or services by implementing quality control measures, conducting audits, and providing recommendations for improvement.

Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance and Control Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate piping, steel structure, and mechanical equipment seamlessly into existing building design, ensuring compatibility and optimal operation.
  • The successful candidate will also monitor and ensure that all MEICA works are carried out according to the latest revision mechanical drawing and comply with contract specification and quality management system.
  • Another key responsibility is to arrange and coordinate inspections with customer representatives and/or ITA as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • In addition, you will perform material equipment incoming inspection as per vendor documents.
  • You will verify Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is done as per approved NDT plans and procedures.
  • The Quality Assurance and Control Specialist will also verify preservation is being performed as per preservation plans and procedures.
  • This role involves checking and endorsing inspection records prior to issuing them to customers.
  • You will report any non-conformances and issue corrective action requests where necessary.
  • The successful candidate will also prepare piping/equipment/structural test packs, perform line walks, and issue punch lists.
  • You will verify mechanical MDRs are as per construction prior to releasing products for onsite erection.
  • Closely collaborating with clients/stakeholders, addressing technical inquiries, and ensuring piping and MEICA systems align with their installation requirements is another key aspect of this role.
  • The Quality Assurance and Control Specialist must ensure strict safety protocols and industry regulations on the construction site.
  • Experience in boiler installation and steam piping to comply with MOM guidelines is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with PED/BS EN ISO codes to comply with project requirements is also essential.
  • Providing regular project updates and technical reports to the QA/QC Manager is a critical function of this role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and constructing major process industries/industrial/infrastructure projects.
  • Mandatory CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector and NDT Level 2 certification.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance requirements related to construction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
