Job Title: Chemistry Lab Analyst/Technician

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in analytical chemistry, with the ability to perform various tests and ensure that all incoming samples are tested and completed on time using appropriate methods and good laboratory practices.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of statistics and analytical techniques.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Uphold the scientific integrity and professional reputation of both themselves and the laboratory, exercising professional judgement and seeking advice from senior staff as needed.
  • Document, revise and assess analytical methods used in the laboratory in consultation with the Team Leader or Operations Manager.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field and 1-3 years of laboratory experience. Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices or ISO 17025 standards is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various analytical tests and ensure timely completion of tests using appropriate methods and good laboratory practices.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of statistics and analytical techniques.
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of the laboratory management system to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices or ISO 17025 standards.
  • Prior experience using laboratory instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, ICP, etc.) is strongly preferred.
