About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs to help elderly patients achieve their highest level of independence and improve their quality of life.

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of elderly patients to identify their functional abilities and limitations. Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and patients' goals.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to enhance patients' functional abilities and daily living skills. Use adaptive equipment and techniques to improve patients' independence in activities of daily living (ADLs). Monitor and document patients progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage conditions and improve function. Provide training on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques. Offer guidance on home modifications and environmental adaptations to enhance safety and independence.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required. Previous experience in geriatric care or a related field is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating elderly patients. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good organizational and time-management skills.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time position. You will work in a hospital environment with regular working hours, but may require occasional evening or weekend shifts.
  • You will be exposed to patients with various health conditions and potential infectious diseases.

Salary Information

The competitive salary range for this role is SGD 8,000 - SGD 12,000 per month, depending on your experience and qualifications.
