Job Description

Job Title: Marine Superintendent

Company: Recruit Now Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marine Operations:
    • Coordinate and arrange Oil Major Vetting Inspections, ensuring timely follow-up and recording of deficiencies.
    • Attend vessels for Marine Inspections and pre-vetting inspections, ensuring follow-up on all noted deficiencies.
    • Conduct annual onboard navigation audits, inputting results into the navigation audits database and following up on deficiencies.
    • Investigate and analyze accidents, and participate in the Emergency Response Team.
    • Arrange external safety audits and onboard training, coordinating with appointed audit or training companies.
    • Monitor and support vessels on operational issues, including loading, discharging, tank cleaning, and grade changes.
  • Quality and Compliance:
    • Implement ASL Ship Management's Health, Safety, Security, Quality, and Environmental Policies, including onboard implementation of the HSSEQ System.
    • Assist in periodical management reviews of the ASL HSSEQ system, record findings, and propose actions.
    • Maintain and update the HSSEQ Management System.
    • Participate in internal Marine & HSSEQ audits, and assist in establishing annual ISM & ISPS audit plans.
    • Investigate and analyze accidents, marine casualties, and near misses.
    • Prepare, implement, and maintain office and vessel contingency plans.
    • Liaise with vessels on safety, navigation, operations, health, quality, security, and environmental matters.
    • Review safety-related reports from vessels and other sources.
  • Job Requirements:
    • Minimum 10 years of experience at sea.
    • Experience in chemical tankers.
    • Minimum 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Officer on Chemical Tankers.
    • Hold relevant maritime certifications, such as Chief Officer's certificate or Master's license.
    • Experience in Ship Vetting by majors, Ship and Terminal Operations.
    • Knowledge of maritime regulations.
    • Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and willingness to travel.
