Job Title: Vascular Specialist

Overview:

A Vascular Specialist performs non-invasive vascular ultrasound and blood pressure studies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complying with and adhering to departmental training schedules and programs in acquiring knowledge and skills to perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound and non-invasive vascular studies for the diagnosis of peripheral vascular disease and other vascular abnormalities.
  • Generating written and diagram reports on findings acquired.
  • Ensuring that vascular works are carried out properly as stated in protocols for ultrasound and other non-invasive procedures.
  • Completing all training assignments as scheduled by senior vascular specialists.
  • Performing non-invasive vascular testing under supervision by vascular/senior vascular technologists and vascular doctors.
  • Providing education and counseling services to patients.
  • Being responsible for all duties delegated by senior vascular specialists.
  • Assisting and cooperating with seniors to ensure operational needs, planning, projection, and administration of the department are carried out properly.
  • Providing support and assisting in research studies conducted in the department.
  • Ensuring smooth and efficient daily operation of the department.
  • Assisting to ensure all vascular diagnostic equipment is properly maintained and at its functional state.
  • Being an integral part of a team approach to the diagnosis and management of arterial and venous disease.
  • Managing and organizing time for scans and reports.

Qualifications:

An individual with a degree or diploma in a healthcare-related field (preferably with prior experience as a Vascular Technologist or medical sonographer) is preferred. A registered nurse with 2-3 years of nursing experience is also preferred.
