Machining Specialist Role

Overview

The Machining Specialist will be responsible for operating and setting up various machine tools, including CNC machines, electrical discharge machines, surface grinders, and other specialized equipment to perform machining operations. The incumbent will follow a product through the machine shop, using a variety of machine tools to complete the finished product.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machine tools, including electrical discharge machines, lathes, radial grinders, milling machines, and drilling machines.
  • Perform machining operations on jigs, fixtures, tools, dies, gauges, test equipment, and product parts.
  • Assist in the set up and operation of machine tools and specialized equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and work from blueprints, sketches, written or verbal instructions.

Requirements

  • Minimum secondary level education.
  • National Technical Certificate (NTC) or equivalent preferred.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine operations.
  • Ability to perform rotating shifts.
