Job Overview

The IT Superintendent is responsible for the overall management of all IT infrastructure onboard vessels and in the office. This includes servers, communication systems, workstations, networking equipment, and cybersecurity measures.

  • Manage and support all IT infrastructure onboard vessels and in the office, including routine system checks and monitoring to ensure reliable performance and uptime.
  • Provide hands-on IT assistance to vessel crew and office staff, resolving technical issues efficiently to reduce downtime.
  • Enforce and oversee onboard cybersecurity measures such as endpoint protection, user access controls, and secure configurations.
  • Drive the implementation of IT projects onboard and in the office, including software upgrades, license renewals, antivirus deployments, and communication system enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records for assigned vessels and office equipment. Conduct quarterly equipment audits and update inventories within the asset management system.
  • Support preparation of annual budgets for vessel and office IT operations and projects.
  • Keep all vessel and office IT documentation up to date, covering systems, networks, and processes.
  • Deliver basic IT training and awareness sessions for crew members and office staff as needed.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex IT issues beyond L1 and L2 support.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing IT infrastructure in a maritime or similar environment.
