Actuarial Valuation Specialist

Critical Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will support APAC valuation tasks, including:

  • Valuing insurance technical liabilities under various accounting standards.
  • Developing actuarial methodologies and assumptions using financial, claims, and underwriting data.
  • Ensuring reserving processes align with actuarial policies and local regulations.
  • Enhancing and automating existing processes using programming and modernizing valuation models.
  • Monitoring reserves adequacy and providing insights on drivers.
  • Assessing the company's financial condition through various reports and returns.
  • Presenting results to stakeholders with supporting analysis and commentary.
  • Aligning reserving processes and models across APAC entities.
  • Supporting other functions on reserving, business initiatives, and strategic decisions.

Experience, Knowledge, Education, and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or a related field.
  • Associate in the Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries, or a comparable actuarial designation.
  • Understanding of health insurance, health claim processes, and IFRS17.
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience, with knowledge of valuation or pricing functions.
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Strong proficiency in programming, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools.
