About the Job
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center, with a Global Network presence. This includes managing incidents, proactively monitoring network performance to prevent outages and minimize downtime, and working closely with a team of technicians to ensure the stability and integrity of our network infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities
- Establish, lead and define all Network operational activities within Global Submarine Network Operations
- Implement and establish Network and Operational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) goals and objectives both for Network performance and team members
- Own Network, Service and Customer performance management reporting and Service Level Objectives (SLO) goals
- Manage Google Submarine Network operational improvement projects, cross-functional initiatives and outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (IT, Computer Systems and Networking, Telecommunications, Electronics) or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in International network operations or a related field
- 7 years of experience leading a technical team
- Experience with OSS/EMS network monitoring systems and software
- Experience in Marine Cable Operations, in cable planning and repair coordination in a Network Operations Center/Context (NOC)
- Knowledge of Optical Transport network protocols, systems, platforms topologies, and technologies
