Chinese Language and Culture Faculty Position

Job Summary:

Nanyang Technological University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join its Chinese Language and Culture Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in curriculum development and pedagogy in the Chinese language, as well as supervising and mentoring student teachers.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in curriculum development and pedagogy in the Chinese language
  • Supervise and mentor undergraduate student teachers in their school teaching practice
  • Supervise Masters and PhD dissertation work
  • Lead or collaborate on funded research projects and maintain a strong research and publication record
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics or a related field
  • Native or near-native competence in oral and written Chinese and English
  • Extensive experience and expertise in research in the fields of second language acquisition, curriculum development, and pedagogy
  • Demonstrate strong ability for effective undergraduate and graduate level teaching
