Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team at TikTok PTE. LTD. in Singapore.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for building a global high-quality location-based services (LBS) database and high-performance LBS services that connect TikTok users with nearby merchants and local services.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Building a global POI (Point of Interest) database, multi-source POI integration, and POI nearby search service to support TikTok local services.
  • Building geocoding database, geocoding service, and IP Location service to support TikTok local services and monetization products.
  • Participating in the analysis/mining of location-based data based on compliance requirements and building a location-related data warehouse.
  • Developing global general location-based services (LBS) with high concurrency and low latency.

In addition, you will be required to improve system design and architecture to ensure high stability, performance, and reliability of the product. You will also collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work in rapid product development.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science or related major.
  • Proficiency in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
  • Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, C++.
  • Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiar with common components such as MySQL, Hive, Redis, Spark, ElasticSearch, Message Queue, and RPC.

The preferred qualification includes experience in R&D of geographic location-based data, such as POI data, geocoding-related data, big data, data warehouse, streaming data flow, and real-time data processing systems.

This is a full-time position based in Singapore, with an estimated salary range of SGD 120,000 - 180,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience.
