Executive Housekeeper Leadership Position

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned hospitality professional to provide leadership and direction to the housekeeping team, focusing on guest services, training, and safety.

  • We are seeking a hands-on leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills to supervise and direct the housekeeping team.
  • The ideal candidate will develop and implement international hotel standards for cleanliness, guest service provision, organization, controls, and reporting.
  • They will review and maintain operating policies and procedures, collaborate with human resources for recruitment of housekeeping team members, and conduct daily housekeeping briefings and on-the-job training.
  • Liaising with the purchasing manager for sourcing and purchasing equipment, supplies, linen, and amenities, they will also assist in appointing and supervising contract services related to housekeeping.
  • Working with the chief engineer to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, they will inspect VIP rooms and ensure they are ready for check-in.
  • Addressing guest complaints and taking service recovery measures as needed, they will maintain tight cost control systems for payroll, linen inventories, and cleaning supplies.
  • Handling staff grievances, discipline, and counseling, they will monitor the 'Knowcross' system for housekeeping status and pursue other duties assigned by the executive housekeeper.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum diploma/certificate in hospitality management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong people person with good communication skills.
