Job Title: Equipment Technician

This role involves providing technical support for field equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical repairs and maintenance, as well as knowledge of safety protocols.


About the Role:
  • Provide routine maintenance and repair services for field equipment, including specialty items such as sleds, tents, stoves, ice coring equipment, and climbing gear.
  • Facilitate training programs for winter staff on cold weather survival techniques, risk management, radio communications procedures, and basic first aid concepts.
  • Participate in emergency response teams and assist with operations center activities during prolonged responses.
  • Conduct inventory cycles and ship-offload activities annually.
  • Track equipment issued to and returned from sponsored events.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably in a cold climate environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks under pressure.
