About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Counsel to join our team at Michael Page International Pte Ltd. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal counsel on complex commercial transactions, with a focus on financial markets and cross-border payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal guidance on financial markets, including FX, forwards, and options
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and contracts related to cross-border remittance, virtual account issuance, and FX and derivative products
  • Collaborate with sales, compliance, markets, and other internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business opportunities
  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience
  • Prior experience in financial institutions, major payment institutions, capital market licensed entities, or reputable law firms consulting for financial markets is highly preferred
  • Proven expertise in payments and financial markets, with a strong understanding of spot-FX, forwards, options, and ISDA
  • Proven ability to balance legal risks with business objectives, demonstrating a pragmatic and commercial approach
