Project Costing Specialist

Job Role:

A Project Costing Specialist is required to estimate and cost switchboards and related products, prepare quotations, and manage indoor and telephone sales inquiries. The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales Team to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery of quotes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimation and Costing: Estimate and cost switchboards and related products to ensure accurate pricing for clients.
  • Quotation Preparation: Prepare quotations, compile technical data, brochures, catalogues, and layout drawings for client submissions.
  • Sales Inquiry Management: Manage indoor and telephone sales inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Order Follow-up Support: Provide support to Sales Engineers with order follow-ups.
  • Cost Improvement: Develop and improve computerized methods for costing, estimation, and quotations to optimize efficiency.
  • Budget Management: Review and compare estimated costs with actual expenses for awarded jobs, managing budgets accordingly.
  • Cost Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and acceptability of costing levels.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to source components or parts for optimization and cost-effectiveness when needed.
  • Internal/External Coordination: Assist with internal or external coordination tasks as required.
  • Ongoing Development: Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by supervisors and adhere to Quality Management System procedures for effective implementation and control.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
