Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Project Manager to join our team at SMBC Group. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading and managing IT projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and dependencies.
    • Drive project execution from initiation to closure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Management
    • Manage and lead project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
    • Ensure strong cross-functional teamwork and alignment to project goals and objectives.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Effectively communicate project progress, status, and key decisions to stakeholders, including senior management.
    • Provide regular updates on project metrics, risk, and dependencies.
  • Project Delivery and Risk Management
    • Own and be responsible for the successful delivery of projects.
    • Analyze and highlight project risks and develop necessary risk mitigation plans.
    • Monitor and track progress of projects, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering
    • Participate in pre-project activities, such as estimation of project efforts and preparation of high-level project plans.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop project plans.
  • Relationship Management
    • Manage relationships across all departments, partners, and external parties.
    • Define requirements, agree terms, and ensure delivery in accordance with agreed timelines.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Develop, prepare, and deliver management information and reports regularly to support decision-making.
    • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project management in the financial industry, specifically in the payment domain.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Demonstrated good knowledge and technical proficiency in corporate banking cross-border payment areas and project management.
    • Experience in managing entire software development practices, various development methodologies, and implementation.
    • In-depth knowledge of project management and business analysis.
    • Strong leadership, capable of managing stakeholders and maintaining relationships in large-scale projects.
    • Strong team management skills, influencing skills, and collaborative team player.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong delivery management experience, with proven track records in managing and steering projects towards smooth execution and on-time delivery.
