Contract Management Role

The Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

This role involves working closely with various teams to manage risk and deliver value through efficient contract management practices.

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure alignment with legal standards.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions, resolving conflicts during contract discussions to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  3. Maintain organized records of all contracts and ensure proper documentation, monitoring contract milestones, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
  4. Identify contractual risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Serve as a liaison between internal departments, external partners, and legal counsel, providing guidance and support to teams regarding contractual obligations and procedures.
  6. Track vendor and client performance to ensure adherence to agreed terms, developing and managing reporting systems for contract-related KPIs.
  7. Continuously improve contract management processes for efficiency and effectiveness, training staff on contract policies, procedures, and systems.
  8. Address and resolve any disputes or breaches related to contracts, collaborating with legal teams to address litigation risks.

Scope of Work:

  1. Oversight of the entire contract lifecycle from initiation to renewal or termination.
  2. Development and implementation of contract management policies and templates.
  3. Ensuring compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and contractual obligations, conducting regular audits to identify and rectify contract discrepancies.
  4. Optimization of contract terms to achieve cost savings, analyzing pricing structures and proposing adjustments as needed.
  5. Implementation and management of contract management software for streamlined operations, leveraging analytics to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  6. Provision of regular updates and reports to senior management regarding contract status, risks, and opportunities.
  7. Alignment of contract management activities with organizational goals and objectives.
