We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at DIESELMECH ASIA PTE. LTD.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in marine electrical systems. They will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems onboard vessels, as well as providing technical guidance and support to service engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing activities related to electrical works and maintenance needed onboard vessels;
  • Systems / power generation / backup power source / fire detection system and safety system for 2 stroke or 4 stroke engines;
  • Assisting to guide onboard service engineers on tasks requiring electrical engineers' competencies to operate and maintain electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/automation systems efficiently;
  • Termination works on vessel / Trouble shooting of 4 stroke generator safety system / Electrical governors would be value added;
  • Advising customers/Supt, the need of shore assistance or need to procure spares in case defects of equipment failures which cannot be resolved thru onboard attendance;
  • Carrying out on board attendance in liaison with the Service manager;
  • Providing work done report and submit to service managers;
  • Experience in carrying out maintenance marine alternators is a plus;
  • Carry out annual calibration of Cargo tanks Temperature and Pressure sensors, manifold pressure gauges of fleet vessels;
  • Identifying areas for improvements and to have good PR in dealing with customers in SG or Overseas regardless of location;

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Technical Cert;
  • Preferably 5 years of relevant work experience in Marine Electrical Industry;
  • Hands on experience working onboard sea going vessels as ETO (Electrical-Technical Officers) would be value added;
  • Possess good knowledge of electrical power distribution, maintenance and practical hands-on skills;
  • Proficient in troubleshooting & fault diagnosis skills related to electrical, instrumentation, automation & control and including air conditioning and ventilation system;
  • Able to read and understand Engineering Drawings (Electrical and pneumatic);
  • Familiar with regulatory and legislative shipping industry environment;

  • A team player and collaborate well with office technical team as well as shipboard team;
  • Able to communicate well and Fluency in English in both written and spoken;
  • Able to travel and working irregular hours as and when the vessel requires services.

Salary: Estimated $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
