Cybersecurity Education and Awareness Coordinator

This position is dedicated to overseeing our Cybersecurity Awareness Initiative aimed at effectively enhancing knowledge and educating personnel on cybersecurity best practices, potential threats, and defensive strategies.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage an innovative and engaging cybersecurity awareness and education program to foster a culture of security consciousness within the organization. Evaluate, strategize, develop, and sustain the comprehensive information security education and awareness program on an annual basis. Provide clear, practical, and current cybersecurity information and advisories. Create targeted awareness campaigns and materials for specific high-risk groups. Actively engage employees and contractors through timely delivery of security awareness and educational activities, initiatives, and content via various communication channels. Integrate security awareness into both in-person sessions and virtual training, including onboarding for new hires, training for new managers, and other relevant events. Monitor and identify the primary human risks to the organization and the behavioral changes necessary to mitigate those cyber threats. Incorporate insights and lessons learned from incidents into revised training and awareness initiatives. Continuously evaluate and understand the susceptibility of employees and contractors to cyber threats and tailor awareness programs accordingly. Conduct regular phishing simulations and report findings for management review, including necessary retraining for those who fail these tests. Develop metrics to regularly assess, monitor, and report on the effectiveness of the awareness initiatives. Requirements Degree in IT, Mass Communications, or Business from a recognized institution. Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory. Experience in promoting cultural change and understanding human behavior to design effective security awareness and educational programs. Strong understanding of security controls and their role in protecting the organization from security risks. Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Ability to effectively convey security concepts in simple, business-friendly terms. Capable of working independently and successfully driving programs and projects to completion with minimal oversight.
