Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, with experience in developing and implementing data management strategies.

About the Role

This role is responsible for defining and implementing data management strategies across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to cultivate a culture of good data management and ensure that data is stored, processed, and distributed safely.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing data standards, data access policies, data sharing frameworks, processes, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Leading and providing advice on the application of prevailing data protection laws and policies to various programs and data sharing initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to structure data sharing arrangements for data to be accessed, used, and shared legitimately with appropriate data protection safeguards in place.
  • Supporting the provisioning of related data management operational services, including reviewing data requests, maintaining intranet webpages for internal knowledge sharing, disseminating, monitoring, tracking, and reporting staff quiz participation rates and results, drafting and submitting data-related KPIs, and administrative tasks.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or business administration.
  • Significant experience in data governance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, including data analytics platforms and data visualization software.
