**Job Title:** Senior Maritime Operations Manager

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maritime Operations Specialist to oversee the safe and efficient operation of vessels.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of vessels, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and environmental standards.
  • Manage day-to-day vessel operations, providing guidance to Masters, Chief Engineers, and onboard teams on cargo and tank/hold operations, port procedures, anchoring and mooring activities, technical and engine room operations, navigation updates, war risk advisories, and insurance coverage.
  • Monitor the onboard maintenance system, address overdue items, and ensure timely action.
  • Review vessel reports, act on findings, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Track vessel certification status and arrange statutory and class surveys.
  • Liaise with Principals to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct vessel visits at least three times per year, including sailing inspections, and prepare Superintendent Visit Reports.
  • Compile Executive Summaries after each visit.
  • Record inspection and audit reports in company systems and follow up on closing deficiencies.
  • Prepare periodic management reports.
  • Support and coordinate Oil Major vetting inspections.
  • Arrange external safety audits and onboard training sessions.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit and inspection findings.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, performing root cause analyses.
  • Review corrective and preventive measures from investigations.
  • Take part in emergency drills and tabletop exercises.
  • Assist with planning and follow-up for Flag State Inspections and ISM/ISPS/MLC audits.
  • Support vessels during Port State Inspections and monitor timely resolution of deficiencies.
  • Review and submit corrective action plans and reports to authorities.
  • Assist vessels in conducting and documenting risk assessments.
  • Record and review both planned and unplanned off-hire periods.
  • Maintain strict cost control of vessel operating budgets.
  • Review and approve monthly financial reports.
  • Consolidate vessel and departmental data for annual budget preparation.
  • Monitor vessel requisitions, ensuring timely submission and delivery in coordination with Purchasing.
