Massage Therapy Role Overview

A highly skilled massage therapist is required to provide exceptional massage services to clients. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of various massage techniques and be able to adapt to individual client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Consultation and Assessment: Discuss client's medical history, lifestyle, and specific areas of concern or pain. Evaluate client's condition through observation, palpation, and range of motion assessments. Identify contraindications for massage.
  • Developing Treatment Plans: Create a tailored massage plan based on individual client needs and goals. Select appropriate massage techniques and determine session duration and frequency.
  • Performing Massage Techniques: Apply various massage strokes and techniques to manipulate muscles and soft tissues. Use proper body mechanics to ensure effective massage and prevent injury.
  • Creating a Relaxing Environment: Prepare the massage room with suitable lighting, music, and temperature. Ensure client comfort and privacy during the massage. Maintain a clean and hygienic workspace.
  • Providing Post-Massage Care and Advice: Recommend stretches, exercises, or self-care techniques to maintain massage benefits. Educate clients about massage therapy and regular sessions. Answer client questions and address concerns.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate client records, including medical history, assessment findings, and treatment plans. Document each massage session.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Adhere to strict hygiene standards and follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.
  • Business and Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, manage client bookings, handle payments, market services, and manage inventory and supplies.
  • Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date on latest massage techniques and research. Attend workshops and seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.
