Job Description
  1. Source materials, services, and vendors; Obtain and review quotes; leverage international sourcing experience for added advantage.
  2. Negotiate with external vendors on pricing, scope, and contractual terms, utilizing proven negotiation skills.
  3. Oversee daily operational purchasing, including planning, issuing purchase orders, delivery schedules, and follow-up tasks.
  4. Perform quality audits and control deliveries on a case-by-case basis, ensuring high-quality products and services.
  5. Participate in engineering changes regarding components, products, or engineering processes, following up on corrective actions for material and process improvement.
  6. Collaborate with existing or new vendors to lower materials costs through value engineering, reverse engineering, new designs, alternative substitutions, or relaxing material tolerances.
  7. Support cost reduction programs for new and existing projects, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  8. Monitor inventory levels for consumables and purchase materials as required.
  9. Manage and coordinate purchase materials for various projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  10. Evaluate and qualify vendors based on performance and reliability.
  11. Assist in tendering by providing accurate material costs and supporting documentation.
  12. Maintain proper records of material costing and document filing, adhering to company standards.
  13. Complete ad-hoc tasks assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
  • Candidates must hold at least a Diploma in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, with relevant industry experience preferred.
  • Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • 3-5 years of procurement experience in the engineering industry is preferred, with experience in piping and structural material purchases being an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for success in this role.
  • The ideal candidate should possess an independent, self-driven, and proactive attitude with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel overseas for business purposes may be required.
